At the heart of the Brute is a 5 9/16" outside diameter Schedule 40 galvanized steel post, designed to withstand aggressive outdoor play and harsh weather conditions. The post is buried 48" below the playing surface, creating a rock-solid foundation that resists movement and flex.

First Team’s nose-cone backboard mounting system permanently locks the nose cone to the post using a through-bolt design, increasing structural rigidity while making backboard installation faster and easier.
This design minimizes backboard lifting during installation and enhances long-term durability under constant use.

The Brute offers a wide selection of steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and clear acrylic backboards, allowing the system to be tailored for performance, durability, and budget requirements.
Available backboard sizes range from 36" x 54" up to regulation 42" x 72".
All Brute systems use direct-mounted rims, eliminating backboard stress and preventing damage caused by aggressive rim hangs.
